FloraTerra Achieves Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor StatusNew training qualifies landscape firm to create more efficient irrigation systems
FloraTerra, a leading Bay Area landscaping firm, announced today the completion of its certified landscape irrigation auditor program (CLIA) by president Gene Ebertowski. The certification from the Irrigation Association, the irrigation industry's leading professional organization, was awarded after Ebertowski completed training specifically designed to recognize irrigation anomalies, plan for hardware upgrades and repairs, and work with managers on a water-efficient irrigation plan.

CLIA status is only available for landscape professionals with a one-year minimum of irrigation-related work. On top of that, landscape professionals must study best irrigation practices and the auditing process, along with performing an audit as overseen by a verified professional. To complete the certification process, landscape professionals must pass a written exam and attend continuing-education courses on irrigation practices. Each CLIA professional must also adhere to a code of ethics as defined by the Irrigation Association. “The quality of CLIA status really stands out in the marketplace. Today's consumer tends to be both concerned about budget and environmental impact,” says Ebertowski. “By earning this certification, we're able to help out with both – and everyone feels good about that.” Using the landscape irrigation auditor training, landscape professionals like FloraTerra's Gene Ebertowski can assess a current site's system, make maintenance and equipment recommendations, and perform measurements for uniformity and efficiency.
